About
At Atlanta Area Orthopedics, Dr. Andrew P. Harakas and our dedicated team of patient-focused support staff want you to experience a totally different approach to orthopedic care. Unlike larger, less personal practices, Atlanta Area Orthopedics is small enough to treat each patient with a level of care and respect that can be difficult to obtain in larger centers. But don’t be fooled by the small size; the AAO team is highly trained and skilled in their areas of expertise.
We engage each patient on a personal level, and do our best to identify the most effective and practical treatment options available. Whether you come to us with a chronic pain concern that is robbing your vitality and impacting the quality of your life or a joint-injury, our team will identify and treat your symptoms or condition safely, effectively, and promptly. Our goal is to have you leave our office wishing you had gotten to know us sooner.
We look forward to serving your needs, and to exceeding your expectations.

Dr. Andrew P. Harakas is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Harakas specializes in arthroscopic procedures of the ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Arthroscopy—which means “to look within a joint”—is a surgical procedure allowing orthopedic surgeons to insert a camera through a small incision to view, diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, arthroscopy was initially used as a diagnostic tool for planning a standard open surgery, but now, thanks to the development of better instruments and surgical techniques, many orthopedic conditions can be treated arthroscopically.
